Carson & Vanessa’s Stoneridge Estate wedding was, quite simply, stunningly beautiful. The place and time was Queenstown New Zealand in autumn. In between the ceremony and reception, Heliworks Queenstown picked the newly married Mr. & Mrs. Page & I up from a private landing strip near Arrowtown and whisked us away for a sunset shoot at The Ledge on Cecil Peak. (Picture a dramatic cliff top suspended hundreds of metres above Queenstown with jaw-dropping views of the surrounding mountains and lakes as well as the town itself).
But I’m jumping ahead of myself here…
Carson & Vanessa hosted their ceremony of 70 guests or so outside on the lawn in front of The Chapel By The Lake at Stoneridge Estate. Stoneridge Estate is a truly stunning venue with views of the mountains and Lake Hayes. As Carson and Vanessa said their vows they had the afternoon autumn sun behind them and all their closes friends and family in front of them.
Carson & Vanessa’s Stoneridge Estate Wedding was highly personalised with lots of little touches they organised themselves that really put their own stamp on the day & truly showed their personalities. Touches like the Welcome To The Wedding chalk-board sign for the ceremony that Carson (passionate about art) drew himself, the Mr, & Mrs. ring dish, the home made centre pieces at the reception, fudge wedding favours with personalised labels, the custom wood bound guest book, personalised His & Her’s vow books … the list goes on … right down to the basket of blankets at the ceremony.
In the end, fortunately, at least the blankets were not needed as the weather, while cool, was absolutely beautiful.
After the ceremony, Carson, Vanessa and I whipped off to a nearby private landing strip. Heliworks, one of Queenstown’s premiere helicopter operators picked us up from here as it saved us a lot of time on a busy wedding day. Heliworks whisked us up to The Ledge on Cecil Peak for some stunning sunset heli photos and the weather and light were incredible. We were truly lucky.
After taking sunset pictures up on Cecil Peak, Carson & Vanessa returned to Stoneridge Estate where they were welcomed as man and wife by their wedding guests. The reception (and the party) began! What a day and night it was!
